David merges field proven capabilities with the practical experience of building digital asset management systems with leading transformative change. He has helped Asset Owner Operators for 25+ years from the ground floor up to achieve significant results in the areas of Operational and Reliability Excellence, Investments & Engineer-Procure-Construct, Enterprise Configuration Management and Asset Performance Management. This puts him in the ideal position to pull through a cohesive solution integrate Engineering, Operations and Maintenance across the complete asset lifecycle.
David joined Cohesive in January of 2022 after 11 years successful years within Bentley Asset Performance team. David has presented in person 4 Year In Infrastructure events and 1 virtual event.
David holds a Master’s Certification in Enterprise Configuration Management from the University of Phoenix, is an Aladon RCM2 Practitioner and a Six Sigma Blackbelt, Project Management Professional that pairs certifications with practical battle scars from running cultural change management initiatives within asset intensive industries: heavy industry steel, O&G, water and power utilities and mining sectors. Typically, he challenges his projects to drive out costly variation by understanding the contributing root cause datapoints that not only determine the right strategies at the right time, but also to enable actionable results within the evolving science of data analytics. David is passionate about deriving maximum results from the circular economy, fostering discussions on socially responsible projects and inclusive societal systems and programs, supported by digital enabling solutions.
Scotty McLean, Senior Digital Consultant, Cohesive
Scotty holds three Mechanical trade certificates Automotive Service Technician, Truck/Coach and Heavy Equipment. He is a Certified RCM2 Facilitator with the Aladon network. He also holds a CMRP certification from the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP). And is a Certified CLR – from Reliability Web. He was a past member of the SMRP best practice committee. And is currently a member of the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Project committee on Asset Management for ISO 55000 TC251
Experience - Scotty McLean has over 40 years of maintenance and reliability management experience. While with Bentley Systems held the position of Global Reliability Director working with customer to improve their Maintenance and Reliability processes for 10 years. With ArcelorMittal – Tubular products division he was responsible of the reliability programs within the Tubular products division made up of 21 facilities located in 13 countries. He was also a member of Arcelormittal Global Maintenance and Asset Risk Teams. In his 30 years with Arcelormittal Dofasco he has worked in most of the business units within the primary and finishing division holding various leadership roles. He was heavily involved with the Dofasco Equipment Reliability Process and Condition Based Monitoring systems development as well as their shutdown maintenance process. Scotty was part of the Dofasco team to join Ivara in 1999 to help transfer Dofasco’s Equipment Reliability Process and Condition Based Monitoring knowledge to allow Ivara to commercialize Dofasco’s reliability process. In this role he had the opportunity to share this comprehensive and proven strategic approach to reliability implementation to a diverse range of companies in North America and Europe. These companies include Pulp & Paper, Lumber, Oil drilling, Mining, Smelting, Automotive, Steel and Power Generation. Prior to the steel industry Scotty work in Open pit coal & Iron ore mining in Canada. And he started his carrier in the automotive world with General motors and Lamborghini.
