PEMAC and Humber College Celebrate the 2019 Maintenance Management Professional Graduating Class

On July 11, 2019 the Spring Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Capstone class presented their Capstone projects, qualifying each participant for their MMP professional designation.

During the evening event held at the North Campus of Humber College, each of the Capstone projects demonstrated how capitalizing on the key learning objectives of the previous seven MMP program educational modules, will lead to operational excellence and business success.

While each individual Capstone project focused on different business drivers relating to the participants' respective companies, all of the financially justified projects successfully applied key objectives related to talent, reliability, project and work management principles as well as the incorporation of digital technology principles.

Opening remarks by the knowledgable instructor Brian Malloch, addressed the simplicity of business: “Profitably produce the highest achievable quality of product or service, produced at the lowest possible cost, delivered to customers precisely when they need it, without compromising safety or environmental compliance. While the objectives seem simple enough, they cannot be achieved without: capable, reliable, repeatable, sustainable, safe and environmentally compliant assets, equipment, processes and talent. The MMP program provides the proven strategies that lead to operational excellence and success."

The combined financial and cost/benefit analysis justifications for the ten projects exceeded $12M in annual improvements related to such factors as increased revenue and operational capacity, decreased operational costs, increased economic life of assets and improved talent performance.

Humber’s Dean of Continuing Education, Wanda Buote and Professional Development Business Manager, Alex Ferguson, as well as MRO Publisher, Michael King joined PEMAC’s Manager of Professional Development, Nicolle Guillen to share in this proud occasion and to personally congratulate Canada’s newest MMP designates and managerial professionals.
