Competency in Strategic Asset Management 

Designed for senior professionals responsible for overseeing the design, establishment, and management of an integrated Asset Management Framework (AMF) across a significant area of an organization, the Certified Senior Principal in Asset Management (CSAM) certification recognizes expertise in aligning asset management with organizational strategic objectives.

Aligned with the WPiAM global certification scheme (GCS), the CSAM certification is awarded to professionals who demonstrate the knowledge and competency to take responsibility for the establishment, updating and management oversight of the application of a holistic and integrated AMF across a significant area of the organization, informed by its strategic objectives.

This certification is ideal for practitioners or expert advisors tasked with ensuring the AMF is effectively implemented and maintained, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Continuing Professional Development Requirements

Minimum total of 180 hours over 3 years in at least three (3) of the following categories:

  • Formal education and training
  • Informal education (max 20 hours/year)
  • Presentation and publishing
  • Formal education and training delivery
  • Community participation
  • Professional Practice (max 30 hours/year)

CSAM Application Information

The Certified Senior Principal in Asset Management (CSAM) certification is awarded to individuals with the knowledge and competency to take responsibility for the design, establishment, updating and management oversight of the application of a holistic and integrated of an Asset Management Framework (AMF) across a significant area of the organization's business, informed by the organization's strategic objectives.

This requires:

  • Tested knowledge in Asset Management (CAMA Exam -or- Equivalent Qualification. See page for pre-approved list.)
  • Awareness and advanced understanding of all the recognized Domains of Asset Management (AM), their inter-dependency and integration.
  • Awareness and advanced understanding of the key requirements for an integrated AMF.
  • The ability to synthesize and integrate complex knowledge (including eliciting such knowledge from a range of Domain experts).
  • Meta-cognitive skills.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex knowledge to a variety of audiences; and
  • The ability to manage the integration/relationship of asset management with other organizational management systems and processes.
     

A Certificant, typically as the leader of a multi-disciplinary AM team, or as an Asset Management Expert (AME),will:

  • Recommend policies, strategies, tactics, processes, and procedures; and
  • Drive AM application and continual improvement
