The Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) certification, developed by World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM) in collaboration with PEMAC and other international partners, recognizes professionals with the expertise to assess asset management systems to ISO 5500x standards.
The CAMA certification is designed for individuals interested in serving as assessors for ISO 5500x certification processes. It ensures that candidates have the necessary knowledge of asset management principles and the ISO 5500x standards. The certification exam focuses on asset management knowledge, not generic auditing or ISO processes.
To earn the CAMA certification, candidates must successfully complete a 2-hour exam and demonstrate a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience in asset management. The exam is based on the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) framework and the ISO 55001 Auditor/Assessor Specification.

The CAMA exam is available in multiple languages, including English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Equivalence
WPiAM recognizes other asset management qualifications as equivalent to the CAMA exam. Successful completion of PEMAC's Asset Management Professional (AMP) program (Courses 1-5 or the full program) qualifies as equivalent. Applicants must provide proof of course completion, relevant experience, and fees.
If the certification is over six months old, applicants must show 50 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the past three years. All CAMA applicants must have at least five years of experience in asset management, demonstrated by their CV and professional profile.
For more information on equivalency and CPD requirements, visit the WPiAM website. To apply, complete the online profile, submit proof of equivalency, and pay the application fees.
CAMA Preparation
Experienced asset management professionals can prepare for the CAMA exam by reviewing the ISO 5500x series of documents available at www.techstreet.com (ISO 55000:2014, ISO 55001:2014, ISO 55002:2018).
Alternatively, PEMAC offers a "Becoming a Certified Asset Management Assessor" course for those with relevant experience. Completing PEMAC’s AMP Course 1 with 3-5 years of experience also provides solid preparation for the exam.
