Update from Global Forum Meeting June 2012

Category:

PEMAC sent two representatives to the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) sixth face-to-face meeting from 17th – 21st June 2012 which was held in conjunction with the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Annual Conference, Warwick, UK. Fittingly, the theme of the conference was “Building for the Future”.

The PEMAC representatives are leading two project teams of the Global Forum, the "Certification" project and the "Relationship between Maintenance and Asset Management" project. By working with other national and international societies like ours we have the opportunity both to contribute to and learn from the dialogue and outcomes of these meetings.

The ultimate aim of the Certification project, for example, is for the various societies to find ways to align and mutually recognize each other's certifications. We see that as a huge opportunity to increase awareness and credibility of the MMP Certification. We believe that true international recognition will be a significant benefit for our members practicing both within and outside of Canada. Over the next year the societies have committed to delving into fairly detailed comparisons of their certifications to come to some conclusions.

If you have questions, comments, encouragements or concerns feel free to contact the PEMAC GFMAM representatives:
